Great teachers change lives on both sides of the Pacific. Run by the National Committee on U.S.–China Relations and the China Education Association for International Exchange, the U.S.–China Teacher Exchange Program places American and Chinese teachers in each other’s classrooms for a full academic year. Yihai has supported the program since 2012, and has also opened its businesses to university students from New York.
On May 7, 2012, the National Committee on U.S.–China Relations and Yihai Education Group signed the U.S.–China Teacher Exchange agreement at Beijing No. 8 Middle School Yihai Branch, with NCUSCR President Stephen Orlins and Yihai Chairwoman Linda Wang in attendance.
Through the exchange, teachers spend a year teaching in the other country, learning about its education, society and culture, and bring that experience back to their own schools and communities. The G2 Foundation and Yihai Education Group sponsored the program from July 2012 to June 2013.
Between 2012 and 2014, Yihai’s support placed 20 Chinese teachers in American schools and welcomed 9 American teachers to teach in China. A second signing ceremony launched the 2013–2014 program year.
Program-wide, 312 Chinese teachers have taught in U.S. schools and 110 American teachers in China.
